The Fraeylemaborg was built before 1300. In the 16th century, the building was expanded, decorated and a moat was dug.
The recently restored park behind the deposit mainly dates from the 19th century, with the romantic features of an English Landscape style.
As part of the New Follies project, ten remarkable romantic buildings have been realized in the park and on the Heritage Square (Hoofdweg 9 site).
Some of the follies you can find in the middle of the forest are a giant hazelnut and a bus.
If you want entrance to the follies, you can get a key when you buy an entrance ticket at the museum shop. In summer, the follies stage small exhibitions that can be visited free of charge.
